Whitewater Drowning Death When Eugene attorney Don Corson was working on the wrongful death case of former University of Oregon Law School Dean Chapin Clark, Corson knew what happened should have been against the law. Clark was killed in 2002 on the Rogue River during a professionally guided fishing trip, because the outfitter and guide lacked the necessary rescue skills and safety equipment. The case revealed that in Oregon, there are no laws requiring such rescue skills and equipment for businesses involved in one of the state's most popular outdoor activities.
Power Boat Accident: Brain Injury Don Corson tried to a plaintiff's verdict a half-million dollar case for a Eugene man who was run over by a power boat. The man was fishing on the Blue River reservoir in the foothills of Oregon's Cascade mountains. A power boat operator, pulling a kneeboarder, ran directly over the fisherman, who was shouting and waving to get the powerboat operator's attention. The fisherman suffered a skull fracture and permanent neurological losses.
Aircraft Power Line Strike: Fatal Injuries Don Corson was a liability lawyer on a case involving a helicopter that hit unmarked high voltage transmission lines over a remote Oregon river valley. The helicopter was involved in a law enforcement drug eradication effort. The case settled after Don, working with a paralegal, discovered documents showing that the power company had specific past notice and warning about the risk posed by the utility's failure to mark the power lines.
"I can offer you both an intellectual and heartfelt unqualified "yes" in
recommending Don Corson as an attorney of compassion and unusual excellence."-- Jerry
Sagen, Eugene, OR
