Fire, Toxic, Electrical, and Chemical Injuries

“Don is a remarkable combination of integrity, strength and smart with a compassionate heart.” — Denise Steele, Eugene, OR

Overview

Cases involving fires, toxics, electrical incidents, and chemical exposures all involve scientific knowledge, and often require understanding of specialized industrial or agency practices. Agencies ranging from Public Utility Commissions to Fire Departments, and from OSHA to the EPA, may be involved. In addition, these cases often require understanding of specialized medical areas. Burn injuries, for example, often involve highly sophisticated treatment at burn centers; electrical injuries may involve both burns and neurological impairments; and different chemical exposures have different consequences, ranging from burns to birth defects.

Investigation and prosecution of cases in these areas requires skills and resources beyond ordinary personal injury cases. The attorneys of the Corson & Johnson Law Firm have been involved in the successful prosecution of many fire, toxic, electrical, and chemical injuries, with years of insider experience representing an electric utility. We have worked with fire investigators, toxicologists, electric utility linemen, burn injury physicians, and scientists and engineers in numerous disciplines from fuel system design to electric engineering.

Chris Keary, assistant KU police chief, said investigators were working to figure out exactly...
