    About Recall Roundup

Toxic toys. Lead-laced baby bibs. Poisoned pet food. Red lead in Chinese-made steel. Medication with the wrong dosage and ingredients. Every day the list of imported products that endanger families and workers in the United States grows. This year 25 million toys alone have been recalled. The new Consumer Product Safety Commission Act is the first major update of U.S. consumer product laws in nearly 20 years. It will help prevent dangerous products from reaching our shores in the future, yet existing products will remain in toy boxes, on shelves, or in the community for years unless we have a Recall Roundup.

    New Consumer Protection Legislation

The following contain new legislation aimed at improving consumer safety:

As a public service, the Corson & Johnson Law Firm is making available free of charge lead testing kits which were developed in conjunction with the United Steel Workers. The goal of this initiative is to distribute at least 1,000 toxic awareness kits to families, child care providers, and schools in the Willamette Valley. Each kit contains one testing swab which can be used on a suspected toy or product.

If you are an Oregon resident and would like to receive your Get the Lead Out lead testing kit, fill in the following form and it will be mailed to you. If you are a childcare center or school, you can order a maximum of 30 kits.
